CNC Milling 10

CNC milling and conventional milling is a type of machining in which the tool performs a rotary movement combined with a feed movement in the X – Y – Z axes. Depending on the type of milling machine (conventional or numerical), the workpiece is stationary or performs a feed movement. The milling cutter is a rotating cutting tool. This allows the material to be processed in different directions. This happens differently than drilling, in which the cutting tool is moved along the axis of rotation. In addition, the milling cutter normally moves in a direction perpendicular to the axis. The cutting itself takes place on the circumference of the workpiece. The milling process forms the workpiece by removing excess in the form of chips.

CNC milling – types of processes.

In our company we have CNC and conventional machining centers that enable the production of elements in the following processes:

  • Face milling – this is mainly used to cut on the face of the milling cutter and is used to machine flat surfaces or to create cavities with a flat bottom;
  • Corner milling is a combination of milling and face milling, with which two planes can be created at the same time, maintaining an angle of 90 ° between these planes.
  • Groove milling – which can cut both along and across the workpiece.
  • Circumferential milling – here is mainly cut along the circumference of the cutter so that the cross-section of the milled surface takes the shape of the tool.
  • Circumferential milling is ideal for creating flanges, gaps or other shapes.

In general, milling enables the preservation of elements such as: solid bodies, shaped bodies, gear wheels, keyways and others. You can use it to create shapes such as grooves, grooves, channels, flat surfaces, wedges, teeth and more.

Milling – production options.

In our production facility we have the option of milling in axes with maximum dimensions:

  • in the longitudinal axis X with a maximum length of 1450 mm;
  • in the transverse axis Y with a maximum width of 650 mm;
  • maximum height of machined parts Z = 460 mm.

We also have table sizes in milling machines:

  • of 1100 mm x 250 mm; up to 1600 mm x 630 mm;
  • maximum table load: 850 kg.

Milling and drilling on a bench drill is a type of machining with which even large dimensions and non-standard shapes can carry out precise drilling or milling. Thanks to the use of long boring bars, coaxial bores and bushes can be made up to 1000 mm apart. In our company we have the option of drilling and milling with maximum dimensions in the axes:

  • in the longitudinal axis X to 1000 mm;
  • maximum height in the Y axis up to 1000 mm;
  • in the Z axis = 1000 mm (travel distance in the spindle axis);
  • drilling table size – 1250 mm x 1250 mm;
  • maximum load on the drilling table: 3000 kg.

CNC milling is one of the most important machining services that we offer our customers. We manufacture details and machine parts from entrusted or our own material. We provide you with the experience of our engineers and are happy to help you select the right material and technology. We guarantee speed, topicality and reliability of the execution of production orders.
