Bearing bushings are widely used in mechanical engineering as plain bearings. They are used to assemble bearings on machine shafts. Their use simplifies the entire structure of the machine bearing. Such bushings are most often found in:
- industrial machines – food, textile machines, etc.;
- construction machinery;
- machines intended for processing – metal and wood industry.
The basic principle of joint action between bearing elements based on bearing bushings is:
- lubrication method – liquid lubricatiing system;
- type of pressure – light and medium pressure;
- the speed between the elements.
Structurally, the bearing bushings can be divided into:
- flanged bearing bushes;
- straight (or cylindrical);
- barrel or spherical bushings;
Functionally, the bearing bushings carry loads:
- transverse and longitudinal – for flange and barrel bushings;
- only transverse – for cylindrical sleeves.
The spherical bushings can also bear loads when the shaft is oscillating in relation to the bearing housing.
Bearing bushings are attached to a bearing housing and are generally pressed into the housing. We offer two types of pressing. The first is a light press fit, where the hole cannot be finished after pressing. The second is a press fit with machining of the press hole.
The bearing bushings produced by our company can be made of various available alloys. Most often, we make bushings from:
- bronze type B101 (according to PN-EN 1982: 2002) – bushings highly loaded, high-speed, with poor lubrication;
- BA1032 bronzes – bushings of highly loaded units, under variable loads and while maintaining abrasion resistance;
- gray cast iron;
- other bearing materials in accordance with the Customer’s specification.
