The spacer sleeves have a cylindrical or flange structure. They are most often used in bearing units as an element which has to separate the elements of a bearing unit. The spacer sleeve can determine the position of the seals or the position of the bearings. However, spacer sleeves are used in many branches of the machinery industry. They are elements necessary for the production of units with rotational properties.
What materials are used for production of spacer sleeves?
Spacer sleeves can be made of high-strength alloy steel such as S355 or steel for heat treatment – hardening such as 42CrMo4. We use such steels most often for such components. At the request of our customers, we also make spacer sleeves from NC tool steel, which are subjected to heat treatment – hardening and tempering to a hardness of 58 – 60 HRC. Then they are turned on our automatic CNC lathes and frequently grinded. Depending on the design solution, spacers made of bronze alloys can also be manufactured.
In our company, we manufacture all kinds of spacer sleeves in CNC turning technologies, as well as sleeves that require conventional milling or CNC milling tools. The range of diameters of spacer sleeves that we are able to manufacture falls within the technological range of machine tools that we have in our machining facility. And so, depending on the adopted technology and production volume, we are able to perform:
- spacer sleeves with a maximum diameter of up to Φ 455 mm in the case of serial production carried out in CNC machining technology;
- spacer sleeves with a maximum diameter of up to Φ 800 mm in the case of unit or prototype production as well as small-lot production carried out in conventional technology.
